What is JEMOS all about anyway?
Jemos believes that all children deserve a high quality, adorable, healthy footwear choice that’s both affordable and friendly to our earth. All of our footwear are made with high quality materials sorted and tested from remnant leather materials. Our packing boxes are made to be sturdy yet 100% recyclable. We use low inks and 100% cotton handles for maximum biodegradability. We suggest and prefer that if you choose not to keep your shoe box, which is a nice box, that you repurpose it for something else or at least recycle it at your nearest recycle center. We also repurpose our shipping boxes and packing materials to help reduce waste and to help keep that pesky carbon footprint low. We believe that being earth friendly is not only the right thing to do but that conserving our resources is in the best interest of all children for the earth is their future.
What are remnant leather materials?
Glad you asked! Ever wonder what happens to the unused pieces of premium leather used to make that luxury sofa set? How about that designer leather coat seen in your favorite clothing store? Maybe that designer high end hand bag? Often the unused portions of leather used to make such items are discarded, ending up in our landfills and contributing to the waste that is so prevalent in our world. Jemos believes that we can do our part to help reduce our wasteful habits, reduce our carbon footprint in the manufacturing process, and give these unused pieces of premium leather a new home and purpose. We source these materials, sort them, and test the materials to ensure that they are safe and toxin free and comply with stringent US testing standards for use by children. Our own children wear Jemos shoes just like yours. Safety is of our utmost priority!

What about philanthropy?
Absolutely! Another reason we go out of our way and make the special effort to source premium materials that would otherwise be discarded and contribute to waste, is that we can use whatever savings are associated with that process to give it back to those most in need. Jemos is a family owned and operated company– far from being a corporate giant. That allows us to focus on what we feel is most important. We donate shoes to charities and other disadvantaged families so that children can enjoy an adorable premium shoe who might not otherwise be able. We partner with religious charities, young mothers assistance groups, etc. You can feel good about helping others with every Jemos shoe purchase. We don’t make a lot of fanfare out of doing this, it’s just the right thing to do. With your support, we can all bring a little more happiness to someone’s world.
Why are baby or toddler shoes with flexible soles better?
While pediatricians now agree that barefoot is best for proper foot and muscular development, it is not always practical. Flexible soles are recommended because they are protective for indoor and outdoor wear, yet not restrictive. Our shoes are designed to offer maximum flexibility, roomy for toe box comfort and plenty of wiggle room, while being both stylish and super cute. We design our shoes to provide the maximum benefit for those little developing feet.
